For writers leaving RaptorWrite

RaptorWrite closes on November 10, 2026.
Your books deserve a home. Bring them to WordCrafter.Pro — free.

First, get your writing out of RaptorWrite. It takes a few minutes per project, and the steps below show exactly where to click. Then come here: the editor, the binder and a set of AI rooms are free, and you use your own AI key, just like you do now.

Export checklist: do this before November 10

Work through these in order. Keep the files somewhere safe, like a folder on your computer, until you have checked your chapters here.

Warning: RaptorWrite's Settings → Backup file does NOT include your chapters. Export each project separately or you will lose your writing.
  1. Export each project

Go to Project Management, find the project card, and click the download icon on it. Choose Export Project. This JSON file is the only RaptorWrite export that contains your chapter text. Repeat for every project you have, including the old ones you have not opened in months.
  2. Export your prompts

Open a project, go to the Prompt Library, and click Export. You get one file with all your saved prompts.
  3. Optional: run Settings → Backup

Go to Settings → Backup. This gives you a zip with your prompts and model collections. It is a nice extra, but it is not a substitute for step 1. It has your folders and settings, not your writing.

Do this before November 10.

Extra: single documents

If you only want a few chapters, you can also export individual documents from RaptorWrite as .md or .doc files. They import here like any other file. For a whole book, the project export in step 1 is the safer choice, because it keeps your folder structure.

Once you have your files, sign up and use Import from RaptorWrite in the Export menu to bring them in. You can import several projects at once, and each one becomes its own book.

Your prompts work here

RaptorWrite prompts use fill-in-the-blank words in double braces. WordCrafter understands the same ones, so most prompts work with no editing. Here is what each one does:

RaptorWrite prompt variables and what each one does in WordCrafter.Pro

{{before}}The text before your cursor.
{{after}}The text after your cursor.
{{selected_text}}Whatever you have highlighted.
{{selected_documents}}The binder files you switched on as AI context.

Bring your own AI key

WordCrafter.Pro works the way RaptorWrite does. You paste in your own key from OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini, and the AI runs on your account. We do not add a markup, and we do not sell credits. Your costs stay yours: you see them on your provider's dashboard, and you can switch models whenever you like.

Already have an OpenRouter key from RaptorWrite? It works here too. If you do not have one yet, you can make one in a minute at openrouter.ai/keys.

Questions you might have

Is it really free?

Yes. The Writer (Free) plan has no end date and asks for no credit card. New accounts also get 14 days of everything first, so you can try the bigger tools. After that you keep the free plan. The AI runs on your own key, so you pay your AI provider directly for what you use, and nothing more.

What happens to my prompts?

Import your Prompt Library export (Settings → Prompts → Import RaptorWrite prompts) and your prompts come across with their names and order. RaptorWrite's fill-in-the-blank words, like {{before}} and {{selected_text}}, are translated for you. See the table above for what each one does here.

Will my formatting survive?

The text, its basic formatting (headings, bold, italics) and your folder structure come across when you import the project export. Two different apps never match perfectly, so look over a chapter or two after you import. If something looks off, tell us through Help → Support.

What about NSFW writing?

It depends on the model you choose. Many models refuse explicit content, and some will stop in the middle of a scene. If your writing runs spicy, pick a model known to allow it, and try a short scene before you commit a whole project to it.

What if my import fails?

Send us the export file through Help → Support and we'll get it in. Do not delete anything from RaptorWrite until you can see your chapters here.

Export first. Then bring your books home.

Free to start. No credit card. Your key, your model, your book.
